Pfsense-download.org is an independent fan-created website that publishes general educational information about pfSense. It is not owned, operated, sponsored, approved, endorsed, or supported by Netgate or Rubicon Communications, LLC or their affiliates. It is not part of netgate.com or pfSense.org. By using this website, you accept these terms and acknowledge that every page is unofficial editorial material written by enthusiasts.

Independent information, not official documentation

Our articles explain broad concepts involving stateful packet filtering, NAT, aliases, VPN tunnels with WireGuard, OpenVPN, and IPsec, VLAN segmentation, traffic shaping, multi-WAN routing, monitoring, and configuration recovery. They are not official manuals, release notes, hardware compatibility lists, security advisories, warranties, or advice for a particular network. Behavior can vary by release, hardware, firmware, ISP, installed packages, and local policy. Current official documentation and the instructions of the network owner always take priority.

No software distribution or appliance sales

This website does not host or distribute ISO images, update files, packages, checksums, license material, configuration archives, certificates, VPN keys, credentials, or backups. References to pfSense downloads are informational. Obtain software only from the official Netgate distribution point or another source expressly approved by the organization that owns the equipment, then verify the file through the official process. We do not sell pfSense appliances, subscriptions, or support contracts.

No affiliation or support relationship

Reading a guide, following a link, or sending editorial feedback does not create a customer, consulting, agency, employment, or support relationship with this site or with Netgate. We cannot open an official ticket, restore a failed firewall, recover lost configuration, validate an upgrade, unlock an account, troubleshoot a VPN tunnel, or speak on behalf of the pfSense project. Product, appliance, and support questions belong with the relevant official channel, supplier, or responsible IT team.

pfSense, Netgate, WireGuard, FreeBSD, and other product, project, or company names are the property of their respective owners. Reader responsibility

Firewall and routing operations can interrupt services or expose networks. Each reader is responsible for authorization, software-license compliance, hardware suitability, backups, and a safe change process. Do not replace, wipe, upgrade, re-address, or reconfigure a firewall based only on a general article. Confirm every interface assignment, preserve a verified configuration export outside the device, document the rollback path, and understand which services depend on each rule before changing a gateway that protects important systems.

Do not submit passwords, VPN keys, certificates, API tokens, firewall logs, customer records, or unredacted infrastructure details through this website. Preserve evidence through an approved process and contact qualified personnel before making uncontrolled changes that could reduce recovery options.
